AUBURN, Ala. (WRBL) — Auburn Athletic officials announced on Wednesday that the football team will compete in a home-and-home series against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

According to officials, the games will be played in 2027 and 2028, where the Tigers will visit historic Notre Dame Stadium on Sept. 25, 2027, for the first-ever meeting between the two programs.

The Fighting Irish will then travel to Jordan-Hare Stadium for the return game on Oct. 28, 2028.

Officials say the series with Notre Dame is another in a line of notable upcoming non-conference opponents, which include Miami in 2029-30.

Auburn’s football schedule for the 2026 season is expected to be announced in December.
