A Connecticut man is missing after an overnight fire gutted a home and detached garage in Bazrah, authorities said. 

Bozrah Firefighters got the call around 3:38 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5, and arrived to find both buildings on Fitchville Road fully engulfed in flames.

Crews had to work quickly to keep the flames from reaching several propane tanks nearby. 

Fire officials believe a man was inside the home when the fire broke out, but no body was found. Police are searching the area to find him. Authorities did not release his name. 

Firefighters requested help from the state's fire and explosion investigation team to find what sparked the blaze. Neighbors reported hearing explosions during the fire, but those were believed to be from tires and other items inside the garage.
