VICKSBURG, Miss. (WJTV) - The man accused of killing a Hinds County sergeant was captured in Vicksburg.

Interim Jackson Police Chief and Hinds County Sheriff Tyree Jones said Ladarien Tyrese Jones was arrested by multiple law enforcement agencies at an undisclosed location in Vicksburg on November 5, 2025.

"HCSO and JPD would like to thank all agencies that assisted in this investigation, which ultimately led to the arrest of this suspect," the sheriff said.

Ladarien Jones was wanted for murder and auto theft.

The shooting occurred in the 1700 block of Dorgan Street on November 2, 2025.
