PHOENIX — 12News is tracking flight delays at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport on Wednesday.

As of 1:42 p.m., the Sky Harbor website reported over 200 flight delays and over 20 cancelled flights.

The Government Shutdown, which is now the longest in United States history, is affecting airports and airport staffing across the nation.

In response to an inquiry about the delays at Sky Harbor on Tuesday, the FAA responded with the statement below:

"As Secretary Duffy has said, there have been increased staffing shortages across the system. When that happens, the FAA slows traffic into some airports to ensure safe operations."
