LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WXIX) - A UPS plane crashed during takeoff in Louisville Tuesday evening, sending flames and smoke across the sky and scattering debris throughout surrounding neighborhoods.

The plane’s engine detached during take off, causing the deadly crash.

Residents described the crash as sounding like an earthquake and creating what one witness called “fire from Hell.”

“It was a lot of flames. It didn’t look like regular fire. It looked like fire from Hell,” said one neighbor.

Sabit Alyiev recorded video as he walked outside his business after hearing the crash. He said he thought recording the scene would be the last thing he ever did.

“It was endless. Look to the bright, big flames... look at the left, endless flames... smoke all over things exploding,” Alyiev said.
