Fontana High School’s dedication to ensure students thrive after graduation has been recognized through their Advancement Via Individual De- termination (AVID) program, with the school being named as one of four finalists for the college prep program’s in- augural AVID Global Achievement Site Team of the Year award. The winner will be announced at the AVID 2025 National Conference in December.

“This recognition reflects the hard work of our teachers and staff in helping students understand they have the potential to attend college or pursue any future path they choose,” Fontana High Principal Joe Malatesta said. “AVID is one of many programs that support our students in realizing their potential and exploring multiple options after high school.”
