Details of an alleged assault remain murky after Nashville singer-songwriter Todd Snider's Utah arrest and tour cancellation earlier this week.
Snider, 59, was charged with disorderly conduct, criminal trespass and threats of violence, all B-level misdemeanors, after he became combative and threatened to hurt hospital staff when seeking treatment at a local facility, Salt Lake City Police Sgt. Greg Wilking told The Tennessean Nov. 5.
The singer was booked into Salt Lake County Jail at 7:10 p.m. Nov. 2 and released before 3 a.m. the next morning on his own recognizance, meaning he paid no bail money to be released but signed a promise to appear in court.
Snider told police he was assaulted at the Commonwealth Room, the venue he was supposed to play Nov. 1.
