MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - A Memphis woman is facing three felony charges after she allegedly called the Shelby County women’s jail and threatened to “blow up the facility,” according to the sheriff’s office.

She’s now booked at the very same location.

Kelviona Townsend, 23, is charged with threatening to commit an act of mass violence, false reporting, and harassment.

The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office says that her arrest stems from an anonymous phone call received at Shelby County Jail East at 11:34 p.m. Thursday, October 30.

SCSO reports that an unidentified woman contacted the jail’s release office and “threatened to blow up the facility if inmate releases did not begin by midnight.”
