KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- A United States Army veteran has a new home in the Kansas City metro thanks to Freedom Alliance and U.S. Bank.

According to Freedom Alliance, a charity that provides support to wounded troops and their families, Staff Sergeant Charles "Chuck" Dickson and his family were presented with a new, mortgage-free home in Blue Springs on Wednesday morning.

Dickson began his military career early, while still in high school, with a delayed entry program. He served for over 20 years with deployments to Somalia, Haiti, Guantanamo Bay, Kosovo, Turkey, Afghanistan and Iraq. He was injured in an explosion in Mogadishu and an attack in Ramadi, which earned him the Combat Action Badge.
