The original founders of Hooters are bringing back the restaurant chain’s vintage, more modest uniforms after regaining control of the brand following a tumultuous period of bankruptcy and controversy, Parade reports.
Hooters Inc., led by the restaurant’s founders, has purchased Hooters of America, which had closed dozens of locations during financial difficulties, Parade noted. The new ownership team plans to reintroduce the original bright orange jogging shorts and fitted white T-shirts across all restaurants.
“I don’t think you’re going to see a bunch of butt cheeks hanging out,” Neil Kiefer, a lawyer who has worked with the brand since the early 1990s, told The Wall Street Journal . Kiefer emphasized that the uniform change is part of a larger effort to restore Hooters’ original
