URBANA, Ill. (WCIA) -- The Urbana Police Department is rallying the community to ensure that survivors of domestic violence have all the essential household goods that they need this holiday season. In partnership with local support organization Courage Connection, they are hosting a donation drive.
Matthew Fletcher, the Executive Director of Courage Connection, and Zachery Mikalik, Deputy Chief of the Urbana Police Department, came on WCIA 3 News at Noon to talk about the donation drive with Mitchell Rife. The two groups are encouraging donations on Friday, Nov. 7, but the donation drive lasts until Dec. 22.
People can donate household goods to Courage Connection by dropping them off at the Urbana Police Headquarters at 400 South Vine Street.
