Republican Wes Allen, the current Alabama secretary of state running for lieutenant governor in 2026, extended his fundraising lead in October. A.J. Candidates must file the reports online if they’ve raised more than $1,000. “A.J. announced his candidacy just one week before the fundraising deadline, and while he has secured commitments from donors, the campaign deliberately chose not to accept those contributions until the next reporting period opened,” the McCarron campaign said in an email to Alabama Daily News.
