LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Federal aviation investigators have revealed new information about a deadly plane crash in Louisville on Tuesday.

At least 12 people were killed and more than a dozen injured after a UPS cargo plane crashed shortly after taking off from Louisville’s Muhammad Ali International Airport around 5:15 p.m. The plane was heading for Honolulu, Hawaii.

On Wednesday, the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) sent dozens of people to begin investigating the cause of the crash.

NSTB member Todd Inman, an Owensboro-native, said the UPS plane was seen on airport security video leaving the runway with a large plume of smoke coming from the left engine.
