DOTHAN, Ala (WDHN) -- The National Peanut Festival is giving back a share of its revenue to our local community as it is Wiregrass Area Food Bank Day at the festival.

On Wednesday, some of the proceeds from the armbands patrons purchase for the fair will be given to the local food bank.

"We ask that everyone come out today because this is a really good thing," said National Peanut Festival President Phillip Tidwell.

This year is different compared to previous years.

For instance last year, patrons could bring in peanut butter or a canned good for a discount on the gate ticket.

This year, three dollars from each 28 dollar armband will be given to the food bank. This way, allows them to stretch their dollar more by buying a bulk of supplies.
