CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - Wednesday afternoon, lawyers gave their opening statements in the trial for the man accused of beating four people to death in Linn County in June 2024 .
Luke Truesdell faces four counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of Romondus Cooper, Keonna Ryan, Amanda Parker, and Brent Brown.
Investigators said he used a metal pipe to beat all four victims to death inside a detached garage on East Otter Road.
Wednesday, prosecutors detailed the series of events leading up to the murders, saying he ambushed them.
Prosecutors said Truesdell confessed to the murders at the scene.
The defense said the four victims weren’t ambushed, and argued even though there were cameras on the property, you never see who committed the attack.
