A South Boston man is expected to plead guilty to manslaughter charges Wednesday in connection with slayings in 1984 and 1993 , the first of which was linked to notorious gangster James “Whitey” Bulger , prosecutors said.
Michael Lewis, 65, will enter his plea in Suffolk Superior Court, where in recent years he was arraigned for the murders of Michael Watson in 1984 and Boston Housing Authority employee William Villani in 1993, Suffolk District Attorney Kevin R. Hayden’s office said.
Lewis is being held without bail. His attorney, James L. Sultan , said he would offer a comment after Wednesday’s hearing. Lewis has previously denied involvement in the crimes through his lawyer.
