A man has pleaded guilty to murder charges in the shooting death of Chicago rapper Tray Savage in Chatham five years ago, according to court documents.
Demitri Jackson was sentenced to 29 years in prison as part of the plea Tuesday, which is to be served in its entirety, according to court documents.
Prosecutors didn’t offer a motive for the shooting when they charged Jackson in April 2021 , saying only that he and Kentray Young, known as Tray Savage on stage, were affiliated with the same gang faction and spoke briefly 15 minutes before shots rang out around 11 a.m. June 19, 2020.
