LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - A new approach to mental health crises is showing promise in Lexington, and harm reduction advocates want to promote that work across Kentucky.
The Kentucky Public Health is Public Safety campaign stopped in Lexington on Wednesday to learn about the city’s Quick Response Team, which launched just over one year ago.
Dream.org , a national nonprofit organization, launched the campaign. Kentucky’s senior organizer, John Bowman, said it’s a chance to raise awareness of the community crisis co-response model.
He said Lexington’s team is a good example of how approaching substance use with care and compassion creates measurable results.
