SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Sioux Falls streets have received several improvements and tune-ups in 2025.

Concrete repairs to the South Cliff Avenue hill near the 1-229 exit was finished over the summer. Crews worked on smoothing out some of the pavement.

"It also received what we call a diamond grind on the pavement to help improve the ride," City of Sioux Falls principal engineer Brad Ludens said.

In a few weeks, crews said they expect to reopen both bridges that pass by the penitentiary on North Drive, with deck and sidewalk repairs and a new bike trail connection.

In eastern Sioux Falls, the city finished underground utility work and one of three pedestrian underpasses on the east side of the Arrowhead Parkway and Veterans Parkway intersection.
