LANDOVER, Md. — It was a heartwarming scene at Northwest Stadium — dozens of military moms and moms-to-be were showered with gifts and support, thanks to the nonprofit Operation Shower .

For many of these women, whose partners are serving far from home, this event was about much more than the baby gifts. It was about connection, community, and feeling seen.

This was baby shower number 238 for Operation Shower, a national nonprofit that hosts group baby showers for military families. Since its first event in 2007 at Fort Bragg, the organization has celebrated nearly 10,000 military families across the country.

Many of the moms attending this event are stationed far from family and friends, navigating pregnancy and parenthood largely on their own.
