(KRON) -- A surfer was rescued Wednesday morning after he got caught in the surf line and was being pushed down coast, according to the Central Fire District of Santa Cruz County.
The fire district said multiple agencies responded at 9:07 a.m. to the incident at The Hook, located on 41st Avenue at East Cliff Drive — just minutes after being dispatched to the scene.
The unconscious surfer was pulled from the water and taken to a nearby hospital.
It is not clear if a potent storm with gusty winds that hit Northern California overnight Tuesday into Wednesday was a factor in the incident.
The current status of the surfer was not disclosed.
