SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) -- After a warmer first half to the week in KELOLAND, signs of winter will settle in by this weekend.
Meteorologist Jaelyn Borresen explains when our first snowfall of the season typically arrives.
It has been a quiet and mild week so far in KELOLAND but some big changes are on the way over the next few days.
A low-pressure system will start to form in western Canada and move into the northern plains by this weekend. We call this an Alberta Clipper. It is a quick-moving system that is known to bring colder temperatures, gusty winds, and light snow.
This means that some of us could see our first snowfall of the season on Saturday. Portions of eastern KELOLAND are due for it as our first snowfall typically comes around the beginning of November. Keep in mind that
