Reigning national champion and top-ranked Connecticut women’s basketball defeated Louisville, 79-66, in the Armed Forces Classic on Tuesday before an announced crowd of 3,640 fans in Alumni Hall on the campus of the Naval Academy.
Preseason All-American Sarah Strong led all scorers with 21 points as UConn led from start to finish in a game broadcast nationally on ESPN. The 2025 Armed Forces Classic was supposed to be held at Ramstein Air Force Base in Germany. However, due to logistical hurdles posed by the ongoing government shutdown, ESPN needed to find an alternative site to host the game.
