(WOWK) - West Virginia, Ohio and Kentucky's Departments of Transportation are coming together to make this a safe winter for all drivers in the Tri-State.
The three teams met to share their plans for the winter season, discuss the equipment they use and what they see when behind the wheel.
Each state is currently in the process of performing maintenance checks on their trucks and stockpiling materials like salt, making sure they're ready when the time comes for winter weather to set in.
"We're starting the year with more than 186,000 tons of salt. If we need more, we can get it during the winter," said Rusty Marks with the West Virginia DOT. "We've got more than 145 gallons of brine, which is, like basically, salt water. If we know something's coming, we'll put brine on the road first b
