Accident has some lanes of U.S. 70 in Craven County shutdown

NEW BERN, N.C. (WITN) - Several lanes of U.S. 70 in Craven County are closed due to an accident.

NCDOT says the accident happened at mile marker 416 near Country Club Road and has the left lanes shutdown near the exit.

It happened just before 8:00 and the lanes are not expected to reopen before midnight.

WITN has reached out to Highway Patrol for information on the accident and will update the story as we learn more.
