The Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant is going through a rough stretch both on and off the court. It’s no longer a secret that his relationship with the organization has hit a breaking point. Reports suggested that one Western Conference team has already begun keeping tabs on his situation in Memphis.

Amid this, Morant admitted that the support he’s receiving is limited. However, one person who hasn’t turned his back on him is Dallas Mavericks star Kyrie Irving. Morant spoke with heartfelt appreciation about how much Irving’s encouragement has meant to him during these trying times.

“That relationship kind of just hit different. In a time where pretty much the whole world is talking down on you, and you have somebody to lift you up. He has always been that guy for me,” Morant said.
