VIRGINIA (WAVY) - Virginia just went through a big blue wave on election night, as the Commonwealth saw a Democratic sweep Tuesday.
Some are calling it a referendum on the Trump Administration and the handling of the federal government shutdown that is impacting millions of people.
A beaming, confident Speaker of the House of Delegates Don Scott was leaving no enthusiasm unchecked. “We’re back,” he said dancing on stage with joyful exuberance, his mission accomplished.
Scott told 10 On Your Side the Democratic party was "targeting" House seats, in which Republicans held 14 seats leading up to Tuesday. Virginia Democrats picked up 13 of them.
