Northlake Christian had a lot to celebrate as the two-time defending Division IV state champions opened the playoffs on Nov. 5.

The Wolverines honored senior outside hitter Khloe Duncan before the match for eclipsing 1,000 career kills against St. Michael last weekend.

On the court, third-seeded Northlake served up 18 aces en route to a 25-8, 25-6, 25-4 sweep of 30th-seeded North Caddo.

“Today was a chance to show that we’re in playoff mode,” said Duncan, a Millsaps commitment. “We knew we couldn’t let them get any room, so we did that tonight. I think this match spoke volumes about our focus. We brought a lot of energy, and it showed our determination as a team.”
