The New Orleans Pelicans followed up their first win of the season with another one 24 hours later.
The Pelicans, led by Saddiq Bey, beat the Dallas Mavericks 101-99 Wednesday night at American Airlines Center. It came on the heels of Tuesday’s thrilling home victory over the Charlotte Hornets. The win Tuesday snapped a 13-game losing streak.
The Pelicans (2-6) didn’t have much success in back-to-back games last season.
They won both games on consecutive nights just once the whole year. This year, they swept their first one.
“Two wins in a row,” said Pelicans’ coach Willie Green. “I’m really happy for our group right now.”
