MADISON (WKOW) -- The bells of Madison's new Cathedral of Saint Bernard of Clairvaux were hung Wednesday.
The installation marks a major milestone for the project as construction crews lowered them into the tower.
The project began as a replacement for an old pipe organ, but it grew into a larger effort to upgrade the parish and establish it as a cathedral.
"It's been a collection of people, and gifts, and talents, that have all come together to make this such a beautiful, beautiful place that will serve our dioceses and worship for many years to come," Father Michael Radowicz said.
The cathedral is a center point for the diocese of Madison.
They hope doors will open sometime this winter.
