DANE COUNTY, Wis. (WKOW) -- After weeks of public testimony, committee review and collaboration, the Dane County Board of Supervisors approved the 2026 county budget Wednesday. The spending plan now goes to County Executive Melissa Agard for her consideration and signature.
The budget includes $825.6 million for operating expenses and $90.5 million for capital expenditures. It aims to balance fiscal discipline with community investment, funding key services in public safety, human services, housing and behavioral health. The board said the plan addresses both immediate needs and long-term community well-being.
