LANCASTER COUNTY, S.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- As Lancaster County grows, Highway 521 will need to as well. But now leaders will need to find another way to fund more than 100 other road and infrastructure projects throughout the county after voters turned down $253 million transportation tax on Tuesday's ballot.

The majority of the projects are state-maintained, so county officials' goals have shifted for now.

"We've got to sit down and have a good plan A, B, C, and D, and we've got some that we've already got in place. We do have a grant in for the State Transportation Infrastructure Bank for $43 million. We actually should hear on that by the end of the year. So we still may be able to move on some projects related to 521. If we get the state support," Lancaster County administrator Denn
