CJI BR Gavai arrived on Wednesday to lay the foundation of the new Bombay High Court campus in Bandra East.
Chief Justice of India BR Gavai said that a court building should be a temple of justice, not a seven-star hotel. Judges are no longer gods; they are here to serve the common citizen.
Gavai made these remarks on Wednesday while laying the foundation stone of the new Bombay High Court building under construction in Bandra. He said the new building should not look like a royal palace but should be designed in accordance with the values of the Constitution. Along with this, the CJI also advised avoiding unnecessary extravagance.
This was Chief Justice Gavai’s last visit to Maharashtra in his official capacity. He said he is satisfied with the judicial infrastructure in his home state
