The foundation stone of the new Bombay High Court building was laid on Wednesday by Chief Justice of India Bhushan Gavai. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde , the Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court, and other dignitaries were present at the event.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chief Justice Gavai made important remarks about the judiciary and the legislature. Referring to the new building, he said he was confident that “this new building of the Bombay High Court will not become a seven-star hotel but a temple of justice.” He emphasised that the structure should reflect the democratic values enshrined in the Constitution.
