IA, NE, SD (KCAU) — KCAU 9 regularly reports on what are known as "Drug Take Back Days," and if you have ever wondered just how much medication is collected at those events, you may be surprised.

In October, on National Prescription Take Back Day, people across Iowa, Nebraska, and South Dakota turned in a total of 18,710 pounds of unneeded and expired medications.
