RIDGEFIELD Wash. (KPTV) - A 34-year-old woman accused of killing a man by poisoning his drink appeared in court on Monday, according to Clark County court documents obtained by FOX 12 on Wednesday.
Raylin Benzie is facing charges that include murder, controlled substance homicide, placing poison or other harmful substances in a drink, robbery, and theft.
According to court documents, officers with the Cowlitz Tribe Police Department were sent to the ilani Casino Hotel for a reported death on Oct. 5.
They found a 38-year-old man dead. He has been identified as Arslan. (The victim had only one legal name, according to records.)
According to the documents, police believe that Benzie gave the man a deadly dose of fentanyl and stole his personal property. She was arrested on Oct. 31.
