NORFOLK, Va. — The Norfolk State men’s basketball team rolling to a 119-55 win over Regent University inside Joseph G. Echols Hall on Wednesday night. The Spartans (2-0) overwhelmed the Royals (0-1) from start to finish, shooting 58 percent from the floor and seeing 11 players record minutes in the victory.
Guard Anthony McComb III added 18 points on 5-of-9 shooting, adding three steals and three rebounds in just 27 minutes. Devon Ellis led the way with 19 points while shooting a sizzling 8-of-12 from the field, and Norfolk native Adrean Newton added 14 points and five rebounds.
The Spartans’ starting five combined for 78 of the team’s 119 points.
