Temperatures were a few degrees cooler Wednesday across New Mexico, but with lighter winds. A backdoor cold front dropped highs as much as 15° in northeast New Mexico today, but won't have a big impact on temperatures tonight. Quiet and calm weather will continue overnight. Smoke may again settle into some valleys, including the Rio Grande Valley, Thursday morning. The smoke is from prescribed burns in the Jemez and Sangre de Cristo Mountains.
