ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Wednesday night kicked off the 2025-2026 Lobo men's basketball season. It was the first official game for first-year Lobos head coach Eric Olen and the entire roster.
Matched up against East Texas A&M, the Lobos had a solid overall showing. UNM won the game 76-54.
Two freshman started the game for the Lobos — Tomislav Buljan and Jake Hall. Fellow freshman Uriah Tenette played nearly 24 minutes off the bench. The trio of Buljan, Hall and Tenette made instant impacts. Hall and Tenette each had a team-high 14 points while Buljan led the game with 15 rebounds.
As a team, the Lobos shot 27-63 (42.9%) and 8-20 from three-point range (60.9%).
Defensively, the Lobos held East Texas A&M to 33.9% from the field and 14.7% from three. UNM also won the rebounding battle 4
