Two of the top three teams in the Western Conference, the Los Angeles Lakers (3rd) and the San Antonio Spurs (1st), squared off on Wednesday night at the Crypto.com Arena. While LeBron James is yet to feature on the court this season, Austin Reaves was rested for the game. Without their superstars, the Lakers defeated the Spurs in a closely-contested game by 118-116.
The Spurs came out with a three-point lead after the first quarter as forward Julian Chamagnie led the scoring for his team with nine points. On the other hand, Lakers superstar Luka Doncic registered 13 points, five rebounds, and three assists in the first quarter.
However, the Lakers took a slim one-point lead at the end of the first half as Doncic dominated both ends of the floor. The Slovenian guard erupted for 22 points
