On Thursday at 2:57 a.m. the National Weather Service issued an updated wind advisory in effect until 8 a.m. for Eastern Ulster, Western Dutchess and Eastern Dutchess.
The weather service states to anticipate, "Northwest winds 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 to 40 mph. Any gusts up to 45mph will be brief."
"Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result," states the weather service. "Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution. Secure outdoor objects."
