As Sara Cox becomes the latest in a long line of broadcasters to put her body on the line in the name of charity, the scale of the challenge is not lost on her.

But while many might expect gruelling miles or the relentless early starts to be the toughest part, the BBC Radio 2 star admitted she is dreading something else entirely.

From Monday (November 10), Bolton-born Sara will take on the equivalent of five marathons in five days, covering 135 miles on foot across four counties to raise money for Children In Need.

The beloved TV fundraiser returns with its big appeal night next Friday nice (November 14).

Ahead of the challenge, which will celebrate 40 years of Pudsey Bear, Sara, who presents Radio 2’s Teatime Show on weekdays, spoke to the Manchester Evening News .
