To commemorate Remembrance Day and reflect on the sacrifices of those who've served, ceremonies are planned in Hamilton, Burlington and Brantford.

The federal holiday on Nov. 11 also means most federal services are closed, along with businesses that are federally regulated such as banks and postal service.

Here's some of what local cities have planned leading up to and on Nov. 11.

Hamilton

An event to commemorate Indigenous Veteran’s Day will take place at 11:30 a.m., on Friday, Nov. 7, at Battlefield House Museum and Park, 77 King St. W., Stoney Creek.

“This service acknowledges and commemorates the contributions made by Indigenous veterans in service to Turtle Island,” the City of Hamilton said in a news release.

The event at the Eagles Among Us Indigenous Monument will be followed
