Aston Villa take on Maccabi Tel Aviv in the Europa League today in a high-profile encounter at Villa Park.
Much has been made of whether visiting supporters would be allowed to make the trip to Birmingham, with West Midlands Police ruling that the fixture was too high-risk, and as such, Maccabi fans would not be able to attend.
That decision sparked widespread criticism, even from Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
It led to calls for the decision to be overturned and for tickets to be released, but Maccabi announced that they would not take up any of their allocation should fans be allowed to attend, due to "a toxic atmosphere being created which makes the safety of our fans wishing to attend very much in doubt".
