Bhubaneswar: The Odisha capital has been experiencing colder nights with a sharp drop of 8°C in the mercury levels over the past four days under the influence of the north-westerly winds blowing towards the state.

A day after recording the drop of 4.2°C from normal, the city, however, was slightly warmer in the last 24 hours at 20.8°C. G Udayagiri, which recorded 12.4°C the previous day, was coldest in the state on Thursday at 13°C, followed by Phulbani and Daringbadi, also in Kandhamal district, at 15°C. Shallow fog also occurred at one or two places in Sundargarh and Kalahandi districts.
