CHRISTIAN COUNTY, Ky. (WSMV) - An alleged burglary suspect was hit and killed by a deputy’s vehicle after fleeing from police, according to the Christian County Sheriff’s Office.

CCSO reports that deputies were investigating a burglary on Morgan Lane at around 7 p.m. on Wednesday.

The suspect fled the scene before police arrived, so deputies began canvassing the area to locate the suspect.

A deputy was driving southbound on Madisonville Road near Mt. Zoar Latham when an unidentified man jumped the guardrail and into the path of the deputy’s vehicle.

The unidentified man reportedly matched the description of the burglary suspect, CCSO said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
