WAUSAU − Former UW-Madison Professor Steve Ackerman and Professor Jonathan Martin will discuss the infamous wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald in recognition of its 50th anniversary from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Nov. 11 at the Marathon County Public Library’s Wausau Headquarters, 300 N. First St.
Ackerman, known for his monthly appearances on Wisconsin Public Radio to discuss weather and climate, was a professor in the Department of Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences.
The duo will cover various aspects of the Edmund Fitzgerald wreck, including the weather conditions at the time, details about the ship and the famous song by Gordon Lightfoot.
