TEXAS – The UPS cargo plane that crashed in Kentucky on Tuesday was recently in Texas for more than a month, according to our sister station KSAT and the Associated Press.
KSAT reported that the McDonnell Douglas MD-11, built in 1991, underwent maintenance in San Antonio from Sept. 3 to Oct. 18. It’s unclear what maintenance was performed and if it had any impact on the crash.
Twelve people, including a child, were killed when the cargo plane attempted to take off from the Louisville airport, but crashed and burst into flames when its left wing caught fire shortly after.
