CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) -- The South Carolina Aquarium said it will offer complimentary admission to federal employees and their guests for one week, starting Thursday, amid the ongoing government shutdown.

According to the SC Aquarium, federal employees and up to three guests will be able to enjoy the aquarium free of charge between November 6 and November 12.

The offer is available in-person only, and workers must show their federal ID at the entrance gate.

The shutdown entered its 37th day on Wednesday, making it the longest on record, leaving many federal workers without pay and vital assistance programs, like SNAP, either being placed on hold or cut.
