STATESBORO, Ga. (WSAV) — When Feed the Boro hosts its next community food distribution this month, there will be a lot to celebrate. The organization will mark its 5th year of operation and the distribution of more than 3.5 million meals.

“What started as a one-time event during the height of the pandemic has turned into a movement of hope, love, and compassion,” said Don Poe, chair of Feed the Boro. “Our mission is to show our community hope through food, love through volunteerism, and compassion through giving the least of these another day to fight.”

The event is happening Saturday, Nov. 15 at Statesboro High School. Every month since November 2020, the Feed the Boro committee has gathered before dawn to prepare for the food distribution. Volunteers unload two to three semi-trucks of
